Karthik Karathur leads strategy for all Locus companies, and currently acts as the president of Locus Bio-Energy. He is a frequent lecturer on Upstream Productions Chemicals and has years of experience advising Fortune 500 companies on growth strategy, M&A and operations.
As senior VP, Gary has been influential in expanding the Locus Bio-Energy business into additional markets, with a focus on the Texas basins. He has years of experience in the oil industry, including serving as president of Enhanced Fluids, LLC., and Advanced Downhole Solutions—suppliers of oilfield chemicals. Gary also co-founded Enchem-Energy Chemicals, Inc., a manufacturer of oilfield stimulation and Production Chemicals.
Northeast US Leadership Team
Martin (Marty) currently serves as the technical officer for Locus Bio-Energy, focusing on leading the company’s activities throughout the Appalachian basin. He has more than 20 years of experience in the mining and oil and gas industries. Marty is a Licensed Professional Engineer, a Certified Petroleum Geologist (AAPG) and frequent speaker at industry events.
Field Services Supervisor
Donald (Don) Kreager is our expert Field Supervisor overseeing our field engineers and pumping crews. Don has extensive E&P experience, drilling wells for leading E&P companies all across the Appalachian Basin and also owns his own wells. He was the drilling supervisor at David R Hill Inc. for 9 years.

Director of Business Development
Terry Stanislav serves as director of business development throughout the Permian basin, and was influential in the company’s Texas expansion. He is an independent consultant with over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including as VP of Exploration and Business Development at Tauber, and leadership positions within BP, Vastar and BHP.
Dr. Kirk Raney
Principal Upstream Consultant
After holding various senior research roles at Shell, Dr. Kirk Raney serves as the principal upstream oil applications consultant. He is a co-inventor in hundreds of patent filings related to enhanced oil recovery applications, surfactant chemistry, and other technologies, and has also published many technical papers and book chapters. He is a frequent presenter at a variety of technical conferences, and was awarded the 2013 Rosen Memorial Award from the American Oil Chemists’ Society for industrial research and contributions to the field of surfactant chemistry.

Andrew (Andy) is directly responsible for driving the overall strategic direction of Locus FS and managing its related businesses, including investment and venture capital opportunities. He previously founded Ganeden Inc., a global probiotic ingredient supplier that discovered a science-backed, shelf-stable microorganism that is used in more than 750 food and beverage products globally.
Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer
Sean is responsible for envisioning and developing research capabilities, scientific product, and intellectual property. Previously, Sean was the co-founder & chief scientific officer of Ganeden Inc., and responsible for the discovery of best-in-class oral and topical probiotics. He is a microbiologist and fermentation scientist with over 135 issued patents for microbial and related technologies.

Dr. Kenneth Alibek
Senior Vice President-Research & Development
Dr. Kenneth (Ken) Alibek is the former lead scientific administrator of the Soviet Union’s biological research & development program, and has extensive experience in microbiology and biotechnology. He was named by the BBC as one of the most influential people in the world for 6 years straight, and also received the Barkley medal for his distinguished public service and contributions to world peace.
Dr. Nicholas Callow
Senior Research Engineer
Dr. Nicholas (Nic) Callow has extensive experience in bioprocess engineering, and currently works on developing and implementing new fermentation technology for Locus. His previous projects include designing continuous fermentation to produce low-cost enzymes, creating control systems to modify bio-system behavior, and research into bio-surfactant production and applications.
