enhanced oil recovery and production increases across two top U.S. oil regions
THE WOODLANDS, Texas (September 25, 2019) AssurEOR, an environmentally–friendly line of biosurfactant treatments from Locus Bio-Energy Solutions™ that substantially improves enhanced oil recovery efforts, was selected as New Technology Development of the Year in the Texas Oil & Gas Awards last Thursday.
It is the second time the 2-year-old company’s cutting-edge production technology has been honored with the award for a top U.S. oil basin—the AssurEOR treatment program received the same recognition at this year’s Northeast Oil & Gas awards, making it the first technology to win the category in more than one region.
The Oil & Gas Awards celebrate advances made in key areas of environmental stewardship, efficiency, innovation, corporate social responsibility and health and safety throughout the nation. Locus Bio-Energy’s AssurEOR technology is recognized as a truly novel oilfield chemistry that safely and cost-effectively maximizes the performance of declining wells, reducing the need for new drilling to maintain production rates.
According to the Texas judging panel, “The AssurEOR well treatment program particularly stood out as it is making massive strides in the industry’s perception of green technology, showing environmentally–sound solutions are effective and financially viable in the field.”
The customized AssuEOR program has caught the attention of the industry for its unique use of naturally-occurring biosurfactants that are safer alternatives to standard chemical-based treatments. It consists of two products: AssurEOR-FLOW™ for paraffin remediation and wellbore cleaning, and AssurEOR-STIM™ for well stimulation and enhanced oil recovery. When used in conjunction, the treatments result in consistent oil production increases ranging from 50 to 200 percent.
